What this calculator does

Calculates Aerobic Decoupling Calculator using the formula verified against the cited source.

What your result means

An estimate from the inputs you enter, within the scope stated below — not advice.

Formula

Efficiency E = power ÷ HR (or speed ÷ HR) for each half; decoupling (fall in efficiency) = 100 × (E₁ − E₂) ÷ E₁

The step-by-step working for your own numbers appears with the result above and in the PDF report.

Frequently asked questions

Symbols and assumptions

Inputs
The values entered in the fields above
  • • Let E1,E2 be first-/second-half efficiency, using power/HR or speed/HR consistently. Percent fall in efficiency=100(E1−E2)/E1; the signed percent change=100(E2−E1)/E1 is its negative. State which sign convention is displayed.

  • • Do not divide time-per-distance pace by HR and interpret it as speed efficiency. Define input as precomputed efficiency ratio, duration split and treatment of stops. This is meaningful mainly for sustained steady aerobic efforts; two numbers cannot reproduce the platform’s entire time-series processing.

Important limitation

This is an educational estimate based only on the values and formula shown. Verify current rates, rules, units, and professional standards before relying on the result. It is not personalized financial or investment advice.
